From the Gulf War to Covid-19 to Iran: How the Engineered Crisis Cycle Plunders Nations and Builds Global Governance

Introduction: Crisis as a Tool of Transformation

History does not move in a straight line, nor do nations rise and fall by chance. Instead, the arc of recent decades is best understood as a manufactured cycle of crises—wars, pandemics, financial panics—each stage moving ordinary people further from sovereignty and self-determination, and closer to rule by a self-appointed managerial and financial elite. This pattern is not random; it is systematic, repeatable, and now visible to anyone willing to “connect the dots.”

The Gulf War—Launching the New World Order

Background:
The 1990-91 Gulf War did not just eject Saddam Hussein from Kuwait; it introduced the concept of the “new world order,” a phrase openly used by President George H. W. Bush. The war was justified by a massive propaganda effort (e.g., the infamous “incubator babies” story later revealed as staged), and was supported by a UN coalition—signaling the move from U.S. unilateralism to international “consensus” managed by global institutions.

Key Results:

  • Cemented U.S. military presence in the Middle East.
  • Shifted decision-making power to international bodies (UN, IMF, World Bank).
  • Launched a global sanctions regime, with devastating effects on Iraq’s civilian population.
  • Introduced the idea of “preemptive intervention” for “global security.”

Pattern:
Crisis → Media manipulation → Global coalition → Elite consolidation

9/11 and the War on Terror—Institutionalizing Surveillance and Perpetual War

Background:
The 9/11 attacks were a real tragedy, but the response was pre-scripted:

  • The PATRIOT Act was introduced almost immediately, curtailing constitutional rights and building a massive surveillance state.
  • The “War on Terror” justified endless intervention (Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria) and normalized preemptive war, regime change, and drone assassinations.

Key Results:

  • Department of Homeland Security created; local police militarized.
  • Civil liberties eroded—“security” trumped due process, privacy, and free speech.
  • The “enemy” became an abstraction—terror cells, “extremism,” a threat that can never be fully defeated, justifying permanent war.
  • Surveillance capitalism flourished; data on all citizens became fair game.

Pattern:
Crisis → Fear → Expansion of state & corporate power → Permanent emergency footing

2008 Financial Crisis—Plunder by Bailout, Socialize the Losses

Background:
The global financial crisis was not a natural disaster; it was the result of reckless speculation and fraud by big banks, enabled by deregulation and captured regulators.

Key Results:

  • Banks and financial giants were bailed out at taxpayer expense (“too big to fail”), while ordinary citizens lost homes and savings.
  • Central banks (Federal Reserve, ECB) became the real power centers, managing economies through money printing and “emergency” measures.
  • “Austerity” was imposed on populations, while wealth inequality exploded.

Pattern:
Crisis → Elite rescue → Public impoverishment → Further concentration of power

Covid-19—Pandemic Panic and the Technocratic Reset

Background:
The pandemic response was more revealing than the virus itself.

  • Lockdowns and mandates were imposed by executive order, bypassing legislatures.
  • Global health agencies (WHO, CDC) took on quasi-governmental power.
  • The crisis enabled massive transfer of wealth (stimulus to the top), further digital surveillance, and normalization of social controls.

Key Results:

  • Centralization of medical authority; dissent censored as “misinformation.”
  • Digital ID, vaccine passports, and increased data collection as “new normal.”
  • The “Great Reset” openly discussed by the World Economic Forum: the pandemic as opportunity for “reimagining capitalism,” moving toward digital currencies, ESG scores, and a “stakeholder” economy managed by unelected experts.

Pattern:
Crisis → Technocratic control → Mass compliance → Re-engineering society

The New Iran Crisis—Perpetual War and Manufactured Consent

Background:
The recent escalation with Iran is not a stand-alone event, but a chapter in a much larger strategy:

  • Endless saber-rattling over “nuclear threat” (see Gareth Porter’s Manufactured Crisis), despite lack of concrete evidence and the reality of Israel’s (undeclared) arsenal.
  • Military-industrial complex and its media partners drive public support for preemptive strikes.
  • Each new “enemy” (Iraq, Libya, Syria, Iran) justifies further expansion of military, intelligence, and surveillance capabilities.

Key Results:

  • Congressional checks bypassed (“emergency powers”).
  • Dissent equated with disloyalty; debate shut down as “unpatriotic.”
  • U.S. resources and lives expended for the benefit of foreign and financial elites, while the Overton Window shifts ever further from constitutional governance.

Pattern:
Crisis → Pretext for intervention → Profits for elite → Erosion of liberty

The Institutions Behind the Curtain: Same Players, New Stage

Who profits from this pattern?

  • International Banking:
The Federal Reserve, IMF, World Bank, and BIS enable a system of debt-enslavement. War and crisis justify new lending, with entire nations mortgaged to global financiers.
  • Military-Industrial Complex:
Weapons manufacturers, security contractors, and their revolving-door partners in government profit from every new deployment, every escalation, every “rebuild.”
  • Media and Big Tech:
Set the agenda, control the narrative, and shape public consent—amplifying fear, demonizing dissent, and selling “solutions” that always consolidate elite control.
  • Pharmaceutical and Health Cartels:
Use crisis to expand power, crush competition, and lock populations into cycles of dependency.
  • Supranational Organizations:
UN, WEF, WHO, and others push “global solutions” that override national sovereignty and constitutional checks—always in the name of “safety,” “health,” or “security.”

The Endgame: Global Governance by Crisis

This cycle of manufactured crisis is not accidental—it is how global governance is built, one “emergency” at a time. Each round of fear, intervention, and centralization is a ratchet that never reverses, and always requires more sacrifice, more surveillance, and less sovereignty from ordinary people.

As Frederic Bastiat warned:

“When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.”

Israel as the “lily pad” or forward base for empire is not an end in itself, but a node in the network—serving the interests of finance, commerce, and control. America itself, as you have so often observed, is being hollowed out to serve these same interests.

The Solution: Remember, Resist, Rebuild

A. Historical Awareness:
History repeats until it is recognized. Learning to spot the crisis playbook is the first step to real agency.

B. Local Action & Civic Virtue:
The antidote to technocratic, global governance is local self-government, constitutional discipline, and moral courage.

C. Media and Narrative Literacy:
Learn the fallacies, propaganda techniques, and emotional levers. Demand facts over fear, substance over spectacle.

D. Refuse False Binaries:
Left vs. right, America vs. Iran, security vs. liberty—these are often distractions from the real axis: people vs. plunderers.

E. Insist on Accountability:
Hold every leader, institution, and expert to constitutional, moral, and rational standards. Refuse to let “emergencies” become the new normal.

Conclusion: The Cycle Ends When We See It

From the Gulf War to Covid-19 to Iran, it is the same playbook, the same interests, and the same result: a more docile, impoverished, and surveilled public; an empowered elite; a world remade for the benefit of the few at the expense of the many.

But crisis only works when we are blind to the pattern. The future belongs to those who refuse to be ruled by manufactured fear, who reclaim their agency, and who reassert the truth that self-government and liberty are not outdated relics, but the birthright of every free people.
